Penge Festival Fete

The Penge Festival is celebrating its 47th year.
The Festival Fete, taking place on Royston Field , Franklin Road, SE20 @11:00 on June 1st 2019, is the opening event of this year’s three week festival of all things Penge and is proudly sponsored by Property World.
The 1903 Penge Air Cadets & local May Queen realms will be leading a Parade around the festival site from 11am to start off the proceedings.
At 12pm the Fete will be formally opened by MP Ellie Reeves, whom will be launching a plethora of entertainment for us all to enjoy. The afternoon is full of music including the James Dixon Steel Pan band, the Pengenista Samba Band along with live Open Mic sessions & music organised by Andy Glazier.
In the arena we will have programmed events inc. a Belly dancing display and a fun dog show. For animal lovers there is also a – Petting Zoo from Ark Animal Encounters All the fun of the fair is on site with a Fairground rides, a Bouncy Castle, Face painting, balloons & Kids zone with games area including giant Jenga. Penge Partners famous tombola will be there and lots of local groups stalls including the Penge Parks, Penge Forum, The Green Party, Penge & Cator Labour Party &
The Healing Fields area, a new fete attraction, is a quieter area in the fete with professional chair massages by Clarisse Fitness & Yoga taster sessions from Spark Yoga (no experience or mats necessary. If you have got lots of energy, then join the Kick Academy who will be hosting football activities in the field and another new activity this year is Boxing coaching; you don’t need any experience – just come along.
You won’t go short of food and drink options this year either – The Penge Food Hub will have taster samples of local cheeses, fruit & veg for you to try, and Fresh eggs for you to buy, and we have many food and drink stalls inc Penge Partners BBQ, Teas & coffees and a Pimms & Prosseco stall, Craft Beers will be on sale from the Three Hounds Bottle shop and lots more.
The Penge Festival programme (50p) will be on sale at the Fete as there are more than 20 other events in an around Penge over these three weeks, along with the Festival Raffle, at £1 ticket, for cash prizes – all proceeds go towards the Penge Festival, where most events are free to attend.
